Canopy employs three aids to ensure the data collected at the point of entry meets the requirements of the customer business. These are:
- Validation checks on the data that is entered, for example, ensuring IBAN numbers are entered correctly;
- Mandatory checks to ensure fields that are compulsory to fill in are entered correctly before the profile can be submitted and/or published;
- Compliance checks, whereby the customer's compliance rules require that a question is answered in a particular way.
It is important to understand what each error message means on the Supplier Data dashboard on the Supplier Profile, so that you know how to rectify the error.

Error messages when submitting the profile
Invalid error messages
When an inputted answer into a mandatory field is invalid, the system will display an invalid icon on the tab, and the question itself to display a correction is required to submit the profile:
To resolve the error(s), please navigate to the tabs containing the invalid icon, and edit the field/ input data into the field for it to be validated.
Query icon
When the customer reviews the supplier's profile, from time to time they may require further information from the supplier, or may need to challenge the data that has been provided.
In this instance, the Approver user should return the profile to the supplier. In doing so, they may query the exact field(s) of data requiring the supplier's attention. They do this with the Query function.

When the profile is returned to the supplier, a reason will be provided in the email notification.
When the supplier logs in, they will see a purple icon on the tab where a data point has been Queried. When entering the tab, the wording Query in purple will be noted below the question.
To resolve the error(s), please amend the field queried, and then re-submit the registration via the Submit Registration tab.
Error messages when submitting the profile
On the Submit Registration tab on the Supplier Data dashboard, you may be presented with error messages when attempting to submit the profile. These will appear if there are outstanding mandatory questions that have not been filled out.
The invalid error message will appear alongside each tab, and each question that needs to be filled out will be listed under the Submit Registration tab.
To resolve the error(s), please navigate to each tab listed, and answer each of the questions flagging as an error.
