The Supplier Data dashboard on the Supplier Profile offers three different 'views' of the data being displayed. These views form part of Canopy's data governance approach whereby any data point can have three different version of the answer:
- Draft answer, which is an answer provided by the Profile Admin that has not yet been submitted. This may happen when someone is in the process of updating the Supplier Profile.
- Submitted answer, which is an answer that has been formally submitted by the Profile Admin for approval by the customer team.
- Published answer, this is an answer that has been approved by the customer and is now published to the supplier record as an official and accepted piece of information.
In this article you will learn:
When to use the Submitted view
When to use the Published view
When to use the Draft view
The Draft view is the only view of that data that is visible to Supplier Users.
It should be used by the supplier when adding or updating their information.
If the profile is being managed internally, the Draft view should also be used by the Internal Profile Admin to add/update information that need to be passed through the approval workflow.
Please remember to 'Submit' any updated information in order to push the information through the workflow. If you do not click the Submit Registration button, the information you have entered will be saved, but will not be passed to the customer for publication.

When to use the Submitted view
The Submitted view is where the customer performs any approvals that need to be performed.
The Submitted view should also be used if you wish to edit the profile without requiring re-approval.
Any information held on the Submitted view will not be published until all approvals have been completed and the profile has been Published.

When to use the Published view
The Published view is the official record of the supplier, and the best possible version of the data held by Canopy. The Published view is read-only and cannot be edited.
All the information on the Published view has been formally approved for use. Because of this, the Published data is the information that is reported on when building Reports, and is transmitted over the API.
